Determined to provide world class education to students, a group of twenty-two like-minded Industrialists of Kolkata established, in 1990, the Kalyan Bharti Trust (KBT), a philanthropic Educational Organization to promote and provide quality education in the country and, in particular, the State of West Bengal. In 2001, KBT founded, The Heritage School and Heritage Institute of Technology to create centres of excellence, in School and Technical Education respectively, in Eastern India.
Heritage Business School (HBS) started in 2003 as Management Education Centre of Heritage Institute of Technology. From 2013 Heritage Business School has an identity of its own.
Educational excellence in HBS has been amply demonstrated by students of the MBA Programme from the very first Batch in which a student of HBS, Mr. Karunakant Singh, was awarded the Gold Medal, by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (Formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology), for securing the first position in the University examination.
Thereafter, HBS has produced several Medalists - Gold, Silver and Bronze, on the basis of the results in the University Examinations.
For Placement, HBS students are groomed for Industry. Today, HBS students occupy positions of authority and are decision makers in leading organizations. The average salary of HBS students joining an organization is higher than the All India B-School average.
