SURYAKIRAN

Kalyan Bharti Trust, a charitable organization has always nurtured within a deep desire towards welfare of the    entire community, particularly for the underprivileged sections of the society in Education and Health   being the prime sectors.
In fulfillment to its commitment the august members of the Trust decided to launch a free evening school so as to benefit the rural children from the adjoining villages. This noble thought made the beginning of a new chapter in the annuls of Kalyan Bharti Trust and the first major step towards the formation was taken on the auspicious day of the World Literacy Day 8th September 2006 which was dedicated for Community Development when Suryakiran, the free evening school was born. At present there are 237 students in Suryakiran.

FREE HEALTH CARE CENTRE

HBS has a well-established Community Service Unit named SEVA, which is involved in following regular activities:

♦ Adult Education Programme on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of every week. Here, approximately 60 adult women from the nearby villages are taught in the evening for 1½ Hrs. Most of these women either have never been to school or are early dropouts.
♦ Regular visit to NIRMAL HRIDAY, a home for the dying destitute, established by Mother Teresa and run by the Missionaries of Charity, on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month.
♦ Regular visit to SHISHU BHAVAN, an Orphanage established by Mother Teresa and run by the Missionaries of Charity, on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month.
♦ The SEVA volunteers render necessary help in running SURYA KIRAN, a unit set up by the Kalyan Bharti Trust, for conducting free evening school for poor children from the nearby villages.
♦ The SEVA volunteers also support KALYANI, a free Health Centre run for the poor by the Kalyan Bharti Trust.
