The annual sports meet at Heritage Business School, Kolkata was held during the period 30th January to 1st February, 2024. This sports event was of special significance this year as Heritage Business School is celebrating twenty years of its completion and excellence. This sports event was a demonstration of sporting spirit, team work and achievement that defines Heritage Business School. The meet was a resounding success.
The participating institutions of this inter-college meet were The Heritage Academy, The Heritage College and Heritage Business School. Students, Faculty members, Staff members and Alumni members came together to celebrate this milestone, encouraging collaboration, sportsmanship and unity.
The meet commenced with the inaugural ceremony with the hoisting of the Heritage Flag, the lighting of the flame by the sports persons of Heritage Business School and oath taking by the sports persons. The Director of Heritage Business School, Professor K.K Chaudhuri gave the welcome address indicating the importance of sports in education, leadership and personal development. The Chief Guest, Professor Basab Chaudhuri, Principal, Heritage Institute of Technology and Senior Director (Academics) of Kaylan Bharti Trust, in his speech, motivated the participants and highlighted the significance of the occasion. This was followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor, Professor S.S Chatterjee Principal, The Heritage Law College.
The sports meet featured a wide range of athletic events for both boys and girls namely short-distance racing events (hundred meters race, two hundred meters, four hundred meters relay race, spoon and marble race, sack race), shot put, long- jump and tug of war and team events namely football, cricket, volleyball and throw ball. These activities encouraged healthy competition between the participating institutions. Overall Winners Trophy was bagged by The Heritage Academy and the Runners trophy went to The Heritage College. Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded to the sports persons who secured the first, second and third positions respectively in the various events. The medal recipients were congratulated and applauded for their achievements.
The event ended with singing of the National Anthem.
