HBS in association with Green Bengal Innovation Network organised an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme on September 21, 2022 .
Ms. Sujata Chatterjee, the founder of Twirl.store addressed the students.
Sujata Chatterjee, engineer by degree but a social entrepreneur by choice, is founder of Twirl.store.
By her unique idea of Twirl.store she has been able to reduce wastage, conserve natural resources, provide basic clothing to thousands of needy people, and ensure livelihoods for rural women too.
For efforts towards sustainability, Twirl.store founder has received the "Devi Award" from the hands of Mrs.Smriti Irani, Union Minister and a special felicitation from Mrs.Chandrima Bhattacharya, MOS, Govt of West Bengal. She is also a proud winner of "Swayam Sidha" award by Eastern Chamber of Commerce and "Rising Women Entrepreneur" by Indian Chamber of Commerce. She has received "Women on a Mission" award by Your Story and been chosen as "Industry Disruptor" by UNWomen and DO School,Berlin. In recent times she has been highlighted as a women entrepreneur by UN India, UN Women Asia-Pacific and UN ESCAP.
She is also proud to be President of WICCI WB Sustainable Business Council and Director-CSR of Sampark Group.

Alumni Meet “SMRITI 2020”
Heritage Business School Alumni Association has organized its Annual Alumni Meet “SMRITI 2020” on 8th February, 2020 at Heritage Campus from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The meet was attended by around 95 alumni members. The inaugural session started with the traditional lighting of the lamp and Vandana. Dr. Bobby Basu, being the Faculty-In-Charge, HBS Alumni Association, presented the welcome address and encouraged the alumni members to become a part of the HBS Almaconnect, a social networking site for strong and effective networking. She also confirmed that the Meet is being celebrated on 2nd Saturday of February since last two years and declared that the next meet will be on 13th February, 2021. There was a video presentation, which took the alumni members down the memory lane of their institute days.
Prof. (Dr.) Anup K. Sinha, Chief Mentor, HBS addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of organizing such meet. He also emphasized on the role of alumni members in building the brand as they are the brand ambassadors of the Institution.
This was followed by address by Prof. J. N. Mukhopadhyay, Director, who encouraged the alumni members to address the existing batch of students as experts from the industry in the Industry -Institute-Interface (III) Sessions, organized by HBS periodically.
HBS has decided to recognize the achievements of its alumni members and hence decided to present the “Distinguished Alumnus Award” on the Annual Reunion Day since 2019. This year, the award was given to Mr. Karuna Kant Singh, an alumnus from the 1st batch (2003-05), who is presently holding the post of Vice President, IndusInd Bank. Karuna has Achieved Excellent performer rating for last 14 consecutive financial years at IndusInd Bank ; Acted as Zonal Implementation Manager - East for Project Udaan (Migration to Finacle -Infosys core banking software) and Successfully implemented migration from Equation to Finacle system in the year 2012 in IndusInd Bank for East. Karuna is also the recipient of Gold Medal in MBA from MAKAUT (erstwhile WBUT)
There was an engaging session with Alumni members, conducted by Mrs. Suhasini Chaudhuri, Coordinator, Corporate Relations. A cultural programme was organized by the existing batch of students, which was enjoyed thoroughly by all. The session ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Anand Seth, President, HBS - AA.
SMRITI 2020 was a grand success due to the tireless efforts of HBS Alumni Association Faculty Committee consisting of Dr. Bobby Basu, Dr. Soumya Sankar Roy & Dr. Soma Bose Biswas; Alumni Members, Mr. Vinay Chaudhury, Secretary, HBS-AA & Mr. Anand Seth, President, HBS-AA and the student members of the committee.

Dr. Madhurima Ganguly successfully presented a paper on Leader Member Exchange Theory and Job Crafting Behaviour in the prestigious biennial conference of INDAM (Indian Academy of Management) organized by Indian Institute of Management, Trichy from 2nd to 4th January.
The paper elicited loads of appreciation and feedback from the audience."
2nd International Conference on Applied Statistics 2019
"The paper 'Analyzing the Factor Structure and Sleep Quality of PittsburghSleep Quality Index in Indian Information Technology Sector'was invited for a presentation in the 2nd International Conference on Applied Statistics 2019 on Emerging Challenges in a Data-Centric World, December 27-29, 2019, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The conference was organised by the Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT), University of Dhaka."
Heritage Business School Kolkata organized Congruence 2019 - the new students induction and orientation programme on 2nd August.
The programme was addressed by Mr. Bani Brata Basu, IPS (Retd), Vigilance Commissioner of Government of West Bengal as the Chief Guest followed by Ms. Aditi Chatterjee, Senior Managing Consultant, IBM India as the Guest of Honour. The programme also witnessed the presence of Shri H.P.Budhia, Chairman, Heritage Business School Kolkata among other dignitaries present during the programme. Shri H.P.Budhia motivated the students and interacted with the parents citing various examples of entrepreneurship in the city which gave an insight to the students who can also be job givers rather than job takers after completion of their MBA. Dr. Anup Kr. Sinha, Director, Heritage Business School and Chairman, Bandhan Bank introduced Mr. Bani Brata Basu and Ms. Aditi Chatterjee to the audience and also advised the students to make an optimum utilization of various resources at Heritage Business School for their MBA studies.
Mr. Bani Brata Basu spoke about the practical aspects which students should consider while working in the corporates after they complete their MBA. He stressed on the fact time management which is vital for a management aspirant. Ms. Aditi Chatterjee spoke about the key principals and values of IBM which is very much relevant for the students who aspire to be future managers. The programme ended with a short and brief presentation by Mr. Clayton Moses, Dean, International Students Relations at Heritage Institute of Technology. Mr. Moses took the students through a journey which started from 1990 when Kalyan Bharti Trust started its operations and made the ground for the establishment of a school and an engineering college in Kolkata in 2001. Then the foundation of Heritage Business School in 2003 came up and so on.

Heritage Business School Kolkata organized Congruence 2018- the induction and orientation ceremony of the new batch students on 18th July 2018. The ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. Saibal Chattopadhyay, Prof. & Former Director, IIMC as the Chief Guest followed by Mr. Bijoyendu N Biswas, Sr. Director, Cognizant Technology Solutions as the Guest of honour. The programme marked a new beginning in the history of Heritage Group of Institutions Kolkata. During the inaugural address, Prof. Anup Sinha, Director, Heritage Business School spoke about the policies of the Institution and how the Institution provides a holistic education to the young budding managers. Dr. Saibal Chattopadhyay in his address spoke about the ways a management student can learn the tricks of the industry and can compliment the basic concepts with various online professional courses available from various service providers . Mr Bijoyendu N Biswas, Sr. Director, Cognizant Technology Solutions focused on the practical aspects of management which are very much applicable in today's industry.
The programme also witnessed the presence of the Chairman of Heritage Business School, Shri H.P.Budhia who encouraged the students to love their jobs and be passionate of what they are doing. Mr. P.K.Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions and various other dignitaries were present during the inaugural ceremony. More than 300 faculty, students and staff attended the programme.

It was really wonderful to have amongst us Ms. Bishakha Patra Ramakrishnan, an alumnus of HBS from the 1st batch as the guest speaker for Industry - Institute - Interface Session which was organized on 15th February 2019 in the campus .
She shared with us her career journey with companies like ABP, Airtel and Essar and then how she made her passion i.e Yoga to be her profession.

1st Prize At The Annual Flower Show 2019
Heritage Group of Institutions Kolkata won the First Prize in the category of Featured Garden at 199th Agri Horticultural Annual Flower Show 2019 organzied by Agri Horticultural Society of India. After the achievement of Ms. Ananya Maity (from The Heritage School Kolkata), ISC National topper (1st) in the country, Heritage Group of Institutions had added another milestone of success on 10th June 2017 when Education World a leading magazine in the education sector had ranked Heritage Institute of Technology number 1 in the category of self-financed engineering colleges in West Bengal in a survey on “Indian Private Higher Education Ranking 2017” conducted by Centre for Forecasting & Research Pvt. Ltd. Adding to the same, Heritage Business School has also been ranked number 1 in West Bengal by Education World among private B schools in the same survey. The rankings were officially declared in an award ceremony organized by Education World in Bengaluru on 10th June 2017at Shangri- La Hotel. “It is a matter of pride for Heritage Institute to achieve the hallmark of excellence within a short span of time,” said Shri P.R.Agarwala, Chairman, Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata on receiving the award from Education World at Bengaluru on 10th June 2017. “We will continue with the same momentum towards excellence in education,” said Shri H.P.Budhia, Chairman, Heritage Business School on receiving the award in the same award ceremony mentioned above. “Such an achievement gives a great motivation to the students and faculty members of Heritage Group of Institutions,” said Shri P.K.Agarwal, CEO, Kalyan Bharti Trust.
Heritage Institute of Technology is an Autonomous institute affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. The Institute has received B++ grade in the first cycle by National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India (NAAC) and becoming the first institute under self-financed engineering colleges in West Bengal to get such grade in the first cycle. It is also ranked among the top 150 engineering colleges in India and among top 3 self-financed engineering colleges in West Bengal by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2017 -an initiative of MHRD, Govt. of India. Heritage had also topped in the university in M.Tech in 2012, 2013 and 2015 and in B.Tech in 2016. It has the highest number of medal winners during 2012-2016 among the self-financed engineering colleges in West Bengal at the 8th Convocation ceremony of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. The Institute had also received the Best Research Project Award in 2017 at Industry-Academia Conclave 2017 organized by MAKAUT out of 80 engineering colleges who participated in the same. The Conclave was organized on March 25, 2017 at Milan Mela in Kolkata.
Heritage Business School has topped in the University in 2012 and in 2014 in MBA(Part Time) course. The B-school received several awards and also is ranked among the top B schools in India by Outlook, Higher Education Review, Indian Management Magazine and many more.
